Curiosity Rover Finds Water On Mars

I knew today was going to be a great day. The sun was just starting to rise when I woke up. I turned on my laptop and decided to go to the NASA website. This not being a usual morning ritual, it was quite odd.
What I saw on the site made me do a double take, to make sure I was not still sleeping.
Water found on Mars… Well not quite. But it was the next best thing. The Curiosity rover found an ancient river bed. We are not talking about a few molecules of H2O here. We’re talking ankle deep, possibly over your waist. It was a rushing stream! Who knows it may have been full of microscopic life forms, maybe even something similar to our earth’s fish.
Take a look at the image of the Mars to Earth comparison. If I did not know better, I would think that stream bed is the same in each picture. The worn pebbles and rocks must have been submerged for 1000’s of years. Eroded into smooth pebbles.
I think all these discoveries are leading up to one thing. NASA is going to find proof of past life on Mars. I personally think Curiosity will find it by Christmas this year.
I may be wrong, but this mission has been amazing thus far. I have been following the images fed in daily. I never imagined that I would be into this so deeply. Since I gave up watching television, this mission has filled in the time quite nicely.
You need to get to the link below and see for yourselves. This images are breathtaking in full scale. Thank you to NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS for the images.
