Well, it has been 2 days since I got my Windows 8 Pro upgrade. I could not be any happier.

It was Friday October 26, 2012. I could not focus on work what soever. Trying to get work done was near impossible. All I could think of was getting home to upgrade my Alienware M17x laptop to Windows 8 Pro. Even though I was going in alone.

I checked with Dell to see if they were ready to “let me” upgrade my laptop to Windows 8. Nothing. WTF ! Not one single Windows 8 compatible driver! So I went to the nVidia website to see if my video card driver was there. It was. Time to upgrade.

The upgrade directly from went oh so smooth. Cost $39.99 and you could order your DvD for $14.99 more. What a steal. Seriously? Microsoft has never released an O/S for this cheap.

The real steal comes when you see that it actually is amazing! Apps run smoothly, resources are used to their full potential. I had upgraded my laptop to 32 gigs of ram before Windows 8. Windows 7 did not use all 32 gigs. I felt it was such a waste of money. After the install, it was one of the first things I checked out. Windows 8 uses all 32 gigs! My laptop runs cooler and faster than it ever has.

If you are thinking of upgrading to Windows 8. Do it. I will guarantee your system will run faster. Not to mention that there are so many more features that you can use. I will not get into all of that. The topic is a whole other article.

You really cannot go wrong at these prices. I would advise that you order at least one DvD with your upgrade if you are updating more than one computer.

You can watch my upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 at my YouTube channel. The link is at the bottom of this article.

So in the end I say “hats off to Microsoft” this O/S is a real winner. Thank You!
